About
A small, independent service.
Built for anyone else who lives alone and has people or pets who depend on them.
Still Kicking exists because the people most likely to be alone when something goes wrong are the people least likely to be missed quickly. Seniors with pets. Single parents. Rural farmers. People between life chapters. Those in potentially dangerous, abusive relationships.
The service is deliberately boring: one check-in a day, a chain of notifications if you stop, a bit of admin so it works when it matters. No algorithms. No surveillance. No "smart" features.
We only charge for SMS because SMS costs money. We very gratefully take donations. That's it. There's no other business model hiding behind the product.
What we are
- A daily wellness check-in service
- A chain of reminders that ends at your nominated emergency contacts
- A structured handoff so your contacts can request a police welfare check
- A safe place for final messages to your people
- Australian-hosted and privacy-respecting
What we aren't
- Not an emergency service — call 000 for that
- Not a medical alarm or fall-detector
- Not a solicitor — "final messages" is not a will
- Not an advertising or analytics business
- Not a service to be relied on entirely — have at least one more safety plan in place in case of service outages
Who runs this?
Still Kicking is a community-funded project run by a single full-stack developer. If you'd like to reach the person behind it — for support, a privacy request, or just to say hello — the contact page is where you should head to.
If this sounds like the service you've been quietly wishing existed…
…it's free to start. Minutes to set up.
